Finding people

How do I get in touch with my Aunt? She's moved since we last spoke and I don't know how to find her.

Finding people has become a lot easier with the onset of internet searches. Here are a few ways that you might get someone's contact information:

  • The old standard: Look in the local phone book

  • Try one of the online search tools such as www.411.com, Canada411, or Info Space

  • If you can't find them that way, use the same searches to find friends or family who might have more up to date information about where they might be

  • If you have been adopted and want to find out information about your biological parents, see Canadian Children's Rights Council in Canada or contact one of the youth help lines (link) for more information for your area. Rights to contact biological parents vary from area to area.
